Blackboard
Lectora is an LTI 1.3 tool, and Blackboard is an LTI 1.3 platform, so the standard that makes Canvas work applies here too. What is missing is not the protocol; it is a real course we have run it against.
What works today
- Lectora launches as a standard LTI 1.3 tool, so Blackboard's launch mechanism is the same one Canvas uses in production.
- Blackboard's role vocabulary is already understood: the launch parser is built against its official role claims.
Not yet verified
- No Blackboard pilot has run. We do not claim support for a platform we have not graded a real course on.
- Grade publishing and roster sync are unverified against Blackboard specifically.
- There is no Blackboard setup guide yet. Installation would be walked through with us.
How it connects
Lectora installs as an LTI 1.3 tool: the platform launches it inside the course, passing the roles and roster it already has. No separate account, and no copy of your student list living somewhere else.
Data and access
Lectora reads only what the assessment needs, and writes nothing back until an educator approves it. The Canvas access page documents the full scope, and our privacy policy, subprocessors and DPA cover the legal side.
Common questions
That is exactly what we are looking for. The protocol work is done; what a first pilot buys is the verification: grade passback and roster behaviour on your actual Blackboard instance. Request a pilot and we will scope it with you.
