Brightspace
Lectora launches into Brightspace the same standard way it launches into Canvas. The wrinkle is that Brightspace lets each institution configure its own role URIs, so what a launch actually says about a user is a local decision, and that is worth checking on a real course.
What works today
- Lectora launches as a standard LTI 1.3 tool, which is how Brightspace expects an external tool to arrive.
- The launch parser accommodates admin-configured role URIs rather than assuming one fixed vocabulary.
Not yet verified
- No Brightspace pilot has run, so no institution's role configuration has been validated in practice.
- Grade publishing and roster sync are unverified against Brightspace specifically.
How it connects
Lectora installs as an LTI 1.3 tool: the platform launches it inside the course, passing the roles and roster it already has. No separate account, and no copy of your student list living somewhere else.
Data and access
Lectora reads only what the assessment needs, and writes nothing back until an educator approves it. The Canvas access page documents the full scope, and our privacy policy, subprocessors and DPA cover the legal side.
Common questions
It is the thing to check first, not a blocker. Brightspace lets administrators define their own role URIs, so a short pilot confirms that what your instance sends is read the way you expect. Request a pilot.
