Gmail
Most of the day a course coordinator is not in the LMS, they are in the inbox. Treating Gmail as a channel would mean a notification that says a batch is ready for review, a follow-up that keeps its place in the same thread, and a reply that reaches back into the course instead of stopping at a no-reply address. Nothing of the sort is built yet.

- There is no Gmail connection of any kind. No sign-in, no labels, no threading, and nothing reads a reply.
- Which events are even worth an email, and how much a message may say about a named student, is not designed yet.
How it connects
Messaging tools connect through chat adapters built on the Vercel Chat SDK, so Lectora can answer where teachers and students already talk. AI assistants connect through the Model Context Protocol, where Lectora is added to Claude or ChatGPT as a tool server. Nothing is built for these channels yet, so this section describes the shape the connection will take rather than something you can switch on today.
Data and access
Lectora reads only what the assessment needs, and writes nothing back until an educator approves it. The Canvas access page documents the full scope, and our privacy policy, subprocessors and DPA cover the legal side.
