Chat tools and AI assistants · Coming soon
Google Chat
Institutions on Google Workspace for Education coordinate teaching in Google Chat rather than in Teams or Slack. A Lectora app there would let a teaching team ask the course assistant and see when a batch of grading is ready for review, in the space they already sit in all day. None of it is built yet.
Not yet verified
- There is no Google Chat app. Nothing can be installed in a space, and no message reaches Lectora.
- What a shared space would be allowed to show about student work is not designed yet.
How it connects
Messaging tools connect through chat adapters built on the Vercel Chat SDK, so Lectora can answer where teachers and students already talk. AI assistants connect through the Model Context Protocol, where Lectora is added to Claude or ChatGPT as a tool server. Nothing is built for these channels yet, so this section describes the shape the connection will take rather than something you can switch on today.
Data and access
Lectora reads only what the assessment needs, and writes nothing back until an educator approves it. The Canvas access page documents the full scope, and our privacy policy, subprocessors and DPA cover the legal side.
